Löyly & Jää
The name Löyly & Jää reflects the essence of the experience I want to share. Löyly is the Finnish word for the gentle, enveloping steam created when water is poured over hot stones, bringing warmth, calm, and presence. Jää means ice, representing the invigorating cold that follows and completes the cycle. Together, they capture the powerful contrast at the heart of sauna—heat and cold, rest and awakening, stillness and aliveness.
I’ve carefully selected each location to honour this tradition, choosing wild, natural settings close to water. These places allow you to move between sauna heat, open air, and cold water in the most natural way possible, deepening the connection to nature and the ritual itself.
Meet Zoe
I first fell in love with sauna culture in my early twenties during time spent in Finland. From that moment, I was hooked—the deep sense of relaxation, the powerful connection with others, and the invigorating contrast of heat and cold that leaves you feeling truly alive.
Over the years, I’ve deepened that passion by teaching Nordic cycling on retreats, sharing the same principles of movement, nature, and wellbeing. I feel truly lucky every day to run Löyly & Jää and to bring my knowledge and experience to the growing sauna community here in Yorkshire.
Why Sauna?
Zoe’s love for sauna therapy mixed with cold water isn’t a fad. It’s been part of her life since 2014, when she truly experienced the magic in Finland.

That’s why we’re bringing this experience to more people! With Löyly & Jää, our mission is to make sauna and cold water therapy accessible, whether you’re a seasoned pro or trying it for the first time.
Formerly Dip & Dales
The Dip & Dales Co was formed by a love for outdoor adventures, particularly wild swimming.
Our founder Zoe introduced dipping costumes made from recycled plastic bottles to the brand in order to give a vibrant yet eco-friendly option for dippers.
This is where our ethos, vibe and mission naturally unmistakable. Particularly living in The Yorkshire Dales, being to close to lots of beautiful wild swimming spots, it's easy for us to show off our wonderful products.
Our mission is to give people the confidence to adventure outdoors and in particular experience the love and buzz of dipping..
